2016-2017 Bridge to Clemson Orientation Ambassador Selection

Bridge Orientation Ambassadors are enthusiastic individuals who have successfully crossed the bridge to Clemson and want to help future Bridge students get acclimated with the program during summer orientation. Ambassadors will interact with future Bridge students and their families by sharing their experiences at Tri-County Technical College, Clemson University, and the residential environment and will facilitate various aspects of the orientation session. It is a fun and exciting role where you have the opportunity to make a positive impact on future Bridge students and their overall experience.

Ambassadors must be current Clemson students that have successfully crossed the bridge or current Bridge students that are on track to complete the Bridge academic requirements by the end of the May 2016 term. Applicants must have a cumulative 2.0 GPA or higher and be in good conduct standing. Academic and conduct records will be reviewed to ensure these requirements are successfully met.

All ambassadors must be available from 7:30 am- 7:00 pm during the 2016 Bridge to Clemson Orientation days:

  • Monday, June 13
  • Tuesday, June 14
  • Thursday, June 16
  • Monday, June 20
  • Tuesday, June 21
  • Thursday, June 23
  • Tuesday, July 12
  • Thursday, July 14

Ambassadors must also be available for two training sessions during the months of March and April 2016.

Ambassadors will earn $10 an hour for approximately 25 hours a week during the orientation season. Clemson on-campus housing will be provided, as needed.

Application Process
Applicants should complete an application and submit a faculty or staff recommendation form no later than Friday, January 22, 2016. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Returning ambassador applicants will need to complete only the returning ambassador application.

The application and faculty or staff recommendation form can be dropped off at the Bridge to Clemson Office in Anderson Hall suite 111 or emailed to kdye1@tctc.edu. Please note that by submitting your application, you are granting permission for the Bridge program staff to verify your current academic standing, including your current GPA and student conduct records with TCTC and Clemson University.

Once candidates have successfully submitted their application and recommendation form, they will be contacted to participate in a group process interview occurring the week of January 25-29, 2016. Candidates will be contacted at the email provided on the application with further information.

Returning Orientation Ambassador candidates will also participate in the group process interviews.

Candidates will then be emailed if they have been selected for an individual interview based on their qualifications, the contents of their application and participation in the group process interviews. Individual interviews will occur February 3-12, 2016. Candidates that are not chosen for an interview at this time will also be contacted via email.

In order to be considered for this position, you must have completed and submitted the application and ensure that your recommendation form has been submitted by Friday, January 22, 2016. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
