Resident Assistant (RA) Application

Bridge to Clemson RAs are live-in, part-time, student staff members at the Bridge residential community in Highpointe of Clemson who are chosen through a selection process to both create a healthy living and learning environment and implement policies, procedures, and programming. Bridge RAs are enthusiastic individuals that want to help Bridge students get acclimated with the Bridge to Clemson Program and transition into Tri-County Technical College and Clemson University, as well as the Highpointe community.

Qualifications: Bridge RAs must be current Clemson students. While the position is open to all Clemson upperclassmen, priority may be given to Clemson students that have successfully crossed the Bridge or current Bridge students that are on track to complete the Bridge requirements by the end of the Spring 2016 semester. Academic records will be reviewed to ensure these requirements are successfully met. All RAs must be enrolled in degree granting programs and in good academic and conduct standing with the university (Tri-County Technical College and/or Clemson University) with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. RA cumulative and semester grade point averages will be reviewed prior to hiring and on a semester by semester basis to ensure that this requirement is met. 

Availability: All Bridge RA candidates must be available for all training and opening dates and times in order to be considered. Spring training will take place on Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 3-5pm. Bridge RAs must be available for fall training and opening, with all staff moving in by Sunday, July 31st at 5:00pm and training beginning Monday, August 1st and continuing through move-in weekend.   

Compensation: Housing and utilities at Highpointe will be provided as a condition of employment. Bridge RAs will be paid a weekly stipend for 10 hours a week at $7.25 an hour. All Bridge RAs are responsible for their Highpointe security deposit. If RAs are terminated or resign from their position for any reason, their housing at Highpointe will be terminated immediately.

Application Process: Applicants are encouraged to review the Bridge RA Position Description. Applicants must complete the application and the Records Release Form, as well as submit two completed recommendation forms, unofficial transcripts with up-to-date cumulative/semester GPAs, and a current resume by no later than 5pm on Thursday, January 21st, 2016. Application materials may be submitted in person at 201 West Cherry Road, Seneca, SC, 29678, or by scanning and emailing materials to By submitting the application materials, you are granting permission for Bridge staff to verify your current academic and conduct standing. In order to be considered for this position, you must have completed and submitted the Application, Records Release Form, Resume, Unofficial Transcript, and two Recommendation Forms by 5pm on Thursday, January 21st, 2016. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Interview Process: Candidates are subject to a two part interview process. The first step is participation in Group Process, a small group observation. The second step is an individual interview. Group Process will take place the week of January 25th and offered on multiple evenings. Details will be provided to all candidates via email to the Tri-County Technical College or Clemson University email provided in the application. Individual interviews will take place February 2nd - 10th. Candidates will sign up at the conclusion of their group process session.

January 21 - Bridge RA application materials {Application, Records Release Form, Resume,  Unofficial Transcript, and 2 Recommendation Forms} due by 5pm
January 25-28 - Group Process offered multiple evenings. Details TBD.
February 2 - February 10 - Individual interviews
February 15 - Offer letters sent out via email; ALL candidates notified of their candidacy
February 17 - Bridge RA acceptance letters due to Bridge to Clemson Office by 5pm
April 3 - Spring Training 3-5pm @ Bridge Student Success Center
