8 Steps to Enrollment for New, Transfer, and Returning Students
Step 1: Complete the Admissions Process
Submit an application for admission at www.tctc.edu/apply.
Pay the $30 non-refundable application fee. Mailed payments must be received on or before the admission deadline date.
Take the COMPASS placement test. COMPASS is an academic assessment that can be taken at any of the campus locations listed below. Sample questions are available under Placement Testing. There is no charge for initial testing and scores are valid for 3 years. Admission depends upon your making a sufficient reading score. If you have taken COMPASS or completed college-level courses in English and math, testing may not be necessary. Questions? Assessment Center Walk-In Hours - Photo ID Required:
Pendleton Campus, Miller Hall - Monday through Thursday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday: 8 a.m. to noon; Anderson Campus - Friday: 8 a.m. to noon; Easley Campus - Tuesday: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Complete the requirements by the admission deadline for the semester you plan to enroll.
Once Step 1 is complete, you will be mailed an acceptance packet that includes your eTC account set-up and login information. Use eTC to connect with all College resources and services. Questions? If you send proof of an associate degree or higher on an official transcript from a regionally accredited institution, you do not need to provide your high school credential. If you are a current high school senior, send your final transcript after graduation.
Step 2: Apply for Financial Aid
FAFSA applications may be completed online at www.fafsa.gov. Our federal school code is 004926. Check the status of your financial aid application on Step 2 of the eTC Get Ready tab. Questions? Contact Financial Aid at 864-646-1650 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Step 3: Complete the Pre-Orientation SmarterMeasure Assessment
Once you are admitted (Step 1), log into eTC and go to Step 3 on the Get Ready tab to take the online SmarterMeasure assessment. Results from this learning readiness assessment will provide helpful information to you and your academic advisor.
Step 4: Schedule and Attend Orientation
Log into eTC to sign up for orientation: (1) go to Step 4 on the Get Ready tab, (2) click on Orientation Schedule, (3) click on the session date, time, and campus location you want, and (4) click the register button in the upper right corner to complete the registration form. If you do not have computer access, computer labs are available at our campus locations. Questions? Contact Orientation Services at 864-646-1502 or email@example.com.
Step 5: Plan Your Schedule
Following your orientation session, you will meet with an advisor. Academic advisors are faculty members who assist with curriculum planning and course selection.
Step 6: Register for Classes
Following orientation and advising, you will register for classes on the eTC Get Set tab. Questions? Contact Student Records at 864-646-1600 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Step 7: Pay Tuition and Fees
Refer to the Pay Tuition and Fees channel on the Get Set tab in eTC. Bills are not mailed. Questions? Contact the Business Office at 864-646-1802 or email@example.com.
Step 8: Get Ready for Classes
If you are registered for online courses, access important information under the eTC Learn tab.
Get your student ID card from the Campus Safety Office. NOTE: You must complete Step 6 to obtain an ID.
Purchase your parking decal in the Campus Store or Business Office. NOTE: You must complete Step 6 before a decal will be issued.
Purchase textbooks. More information is available on the eTC Get Set tab.
