When Evette graduated high school, she had major anxiety about attending a large university. Being a first-generation college student with strong family ties, she did not want to leave home. "Tri-County was the perfect choice for me. It was close to home, the classes were small, and the instructors knew my name. I felt very comfortable here." Evette overcame several obstacles to obtain her degree. "I had no car, little money for school, and changed my major after enrolling; but there were wonderful people at the College who offered encouragement and guidance each step of the way."
