Course Description:
Basic level course involves both classroom and hands-on training and includes all NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) Core Curriculum modules (this is required for all NCCER certifications), all Heavy Equipment Operations Level 1 modules, and four additional individual NCCER Heavy Equipment Operation modules (loaders, bulldozers, backhoes, and excavators). The student will learn equipment applications, attachments, operating controls, preventive maintenance requirements, and basic operating techniques through a combination of classroom and hands-on training. Upon successful completion of the testing requirements for all modules, the student will receive NCCER certification in both Core Curriculum and Level 1 Heavy Equipment Operations plus a certificate of completion from Tri-County Technical College.
Course Outline :
The course involves eight (8) weeks of training conducted over five (5) consecutive days each week for a total of 294 hours of training. The course includes the following topics:
- NCCER Core Curriculum
- 10-Hour OSHA Construction Standards
- NCCER Heavy Equipment Operations Level 1
- Individual NCCER Heavy Equipment Operations Modules:
- Loaders
- Dozers
- Backhoes
- Excavators

Will Receive upon Completion:
Student will receive NCCER certification in both Core Curriculum and Heavy Equipment Operations Level 1 plus a certificate of completion from Tri-County Technical College.
