Culinary Arts

Corporate and Community Education offers a variety of classes and certificate programs that can benefit you in your pursuit of a career in the food industry or just simply improve your culinary skills for family and friends.

 CULINARY ARTS CERTIFICATE

This QuickJobs program is a WIA-eligible training program.   

The certificate program is designed for individuals who would like to gain culinary skills needed to enter the food service industry. This program is also a great opportunity for individuals who want to become more comfortable and more proficient in the kitchen.

Upon completion of the following courses you will receive a Certificate in Culinary Arts indicating that you've completed 273 hours of culinary arts training. The classes can be taken individually if prerequisites are met or with approval of department/instructor.

  • Cooking I: Soups and Sauces
  • Cooking II: Meats and Entrees:
  • Cooking III: Buffet Preparation
  • Garnishing and Food Presentation
  • Business & Safety Operations (Includes ServSafe Certification)
  • Baking Principles
  • Pastries and Desserts
  • Employment Training

 BAKING CERTIFICATE
Become a proficient baker as you learn to create beautiful breads, pastries and desserts as well as a variety of other delicacies. From beginning to advanced cake decorating you will develop skills that will set your creations apart from others. Upon completion of these courses you will be prepared to work in a bakery, start your own or delight the hearts of your friends and family with your creations.

Upon completion of the following courses you will receive a Certificate in Baking indicating that you have completed 219 hours of culinary arts training. The classes can be taken individually if prerequisites are met or with approval of department/instructor.

  • Cake Decorating I
  • Cake Decorating II
  • Advanced Cake Decorating
  • Business & Safety Operations (Includes ServSafe Certification)
  • Baking Principles
  • Pastries and Desserts
  • Employment Training: Food

  SERVSAFE CERTIFICATION
We offer both a public class for employees as well as classes tailored for any company requiring the ServSafe Certification for employees and/or managers.
