The Seventh Annual Fall Classic Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, October 7, 2011 at Anderson Country Club in Anderson, SC. Since 2005, the Tri-County Technical College Foundation has hosted this tournament and has raised nearly $172,000 to support special initiatives at the College.

The money raised at this year's tournament will help us retrofit our new Industrial Technology Center located in a 43,000-square-foot building in Sandy Springs, just five miles from the Pendleton Campus. Enrollment in Welding tripled over a three-year period between Fall 2007 and 2009. HVAC enrollment doubled during the same time period. Quite frankly, we have run out of space to teach our students. This building will house the College's Welding and HVAC programs where the students will receive quality education by trained experts on advanced equipment that will prepare them to work in a variety of industries in our surrounding area.
The College remains committed to offering excellent learning facilities to help our students gain the hands-on experiences needed to learn and grow. Participation in our golf tournament will directly provide funding for HVAC equipment such as a commercial walk-in freezer/cooler, a commercial cooling chiller with cooling tower and sheet metal brake folding machines. Welding's equipment list includes the need for spool guns, wire feeder and roughneck guns, disk sanders and plasma cutters. It is estimated that it will cost a combined $293,000 in equipment to get the programs up and running.
We will begin with a catered lunch at 11:00 a.m. provided by Mellow Mushroom of Anderson. The captain's choice shotgun start will be at 12:00 p.m., with an awards reception sponsored by J. Peters following the conclusion of play.
Thank you to our 2011 Fall Classic Sponsors!
