This QuickJobs program is a WIA-eligible training program.
This 40-hour program provides the behind-the-wheel training to individuals who are already a licensed driver but who have been out of the trucking industry for a while and in order for companies to hire them they are being asked to show they have had a refresher course.
The course involves providing a licensed driver the opportunity to "refresh" their driving skills in a safe environment under the direction of a certified instructor. A short assessment of the student's driving skills is provided in order to determine which skills they really need to work on. A plan is created that will allow them to develop those skills during the 40-hour training. Some students need practice backing, alley docking, or just over the road driving skills, it is all individual.
The 40-hours of training is offered in a one-on-one format. This format provides a one-on-one arrangement with the instructor and student which allows for more drive time but no observation time. This works for companies they just want to know that the individual has completed 40 hours of additional training under the direction of a certified CDL instructor.
- Vehicle Control
- Pre-trip Inspection
