Meet LEI Faculty and Staff

Croslena JohnsonGeneral: I'm Croslena Broadwater-Johnson and I have been employed at TCTC in the Student Affairs Division since November 2002. I have been married for 14 years to my wonderful husband, Wayne Johnson. We have two beautiful children, Wayne II (10) and Leniah Brea (5). I settled in Anderson, SC after I got married, but was originally born in Aiken, SC to Crosby and Dorothy Broadwater. I have one sister and 5 brothers. Hobbies include: spending time with my family, water sports (tubing, jet-skiing, boat riding, swimming, knee boarding), traveling (favorite places: Hawaii and Germany), Spectator sports (Football), Home décor, and shopping.

Music: I enjoy all types of music-Gospel, R&B, Blues, Jazz, Hip Hop, Reggae, and some rap, etc.I also love "Old School" hits from artists like Diana Ross, Chaka Khan, Prince, Stevie Wonder, etc. The music I listen to depends on the mood I am in.

Movies: I love movies that are based on true accounts of an historical event or someone's life as well as Sci-fi movies. Star Wars, Armageddon, etc are some of my favorite movies.

Television: Overall, I do not watch a lot of T.V. However, when possible, I will watch the History Channel, Discovery, National Geographic, HGTV, or ETV. I did, however, watch one full episode of American Idol from start to finish. I hate Soap Operas-love Oprah and Dr. Phil!

Books: Books: I like to read books that I can actually learn something from-whether it is on the topic of education, an autobiography, how to do something, raising awareness of an issue-fiction or non-fiction. One book that I make sure I make time to read is the Bible. Of course, I read often to my children-so I read children's books also! A very touching book I read recently was A Child Called It by Dave Pelzer.

Education: I graduated from Clemson University in 1993 earning my B.A. in Psychology (minored in Sociology) and I returned to Clemson University in 1999 to work on my Masters Degree. In 2000, I graduated with a M.Ed. degree in Community Agency Counseling.

Occupation: Occupation: I am the Director of Student Life and Counseling Services in the Student Affairs Division at Tri-County Technical College. The programs offered through Student Life are: Orientation, Student Activities, Student Government, Multicultural Services, Disability Services, and Academic Counseling. I also serve as the Smart Start Coordinator for the Learning Excellence Initiative.

Favorite Quote or Saying: "I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has had to overcome while trying to succeed." (Booker T. Washington)
