University Transfer student Jonathan's goal is to make the 2016 Olympic race walking team and compete in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He has competed across the country and in Russia and Canada, and recently broke the 25-kilometer junior national record at the USA Race Walk Championships in Ocean Township, N. Jonathan got involved in the sport at age nine for health reasons. Born three months premature, his lungs, ears, and eyes weren't fully developed. His dad determined that long distance running and race walking would build his lung capacity so he began training at an early age. "Race walking has taught me discipline in all aspects of my life -- school, athletics, and my faith," the 2011 Pickens High School grad says.
