The Tutoring Center Agreement

If I choose to take advantage of the free tutoring services offered to me as a student at Tri-County Technical College, I understand and agree to the following terms:

1. Attendance

I will make every effort to arrive on time for all scheduled sessions, or I will notify the Tutoring Center in advance of my inability to attend the session. If I am ten minutes late for an appointment without having called 864-646-1367, my appointment may be given to someone else.

I understand that my instructor will be notified of my attendance or non-attendance.

I understand that missing two appointments with no prior notification will lead to a suspension of my Tutoring Center privileges.

2. Responsibilities

I will come to the tutoring session prepared, with all relevant materials (notes, textbooks, assignments, a draft of the paper or evidence that I have attempted the assigned work).

I will have attempted to clarify with my instructor any questions I have about the assignment.

I will have specific questions for the tutor about the assignment or about the material for a test or exam.

I will not wait until the last minute to seek help.

I understand that I will be expected to actively participate in the tutoring session.

I am responsible for any changes made on the finished academic product and for meeting the instructor’s requirements for length of a paper.

I may accept or reject any suggestions made by the tutor.

I am ultimately responsible for the grade I receive on the paper, test, exam, or project I brought or emailed to the Tutoring Center.

3. Expectations

The tutor will never do my work for me.

The tutor is not responsible for editing or proofreading any work I submit to the Tutoring Center or for doing my homework.

The tutor is not responsible for pointing out every error on my paper.
