Acceptable High School Graduation Types

Tri-County Technical College accepts the following as acceptable high school completion:

• Standard/State High School Diploma: The diploma awarded to students who have successfully completed all state graduation requirements.
• General Educational Development (GED) Diploma: A credential issued by a state Department of Education that certifies the recipient has achieved high school-level academic skills. 

Note: Occupational/Alternative/District Diplomas and Certificates that recognize the accomplishments of students who participated in the special education curriculum of individual school districts are not equivalent to a state (standard) high school diploma.

International High School Graduates: 

• Students who completed high school at an institution outside of the United States must:
  • Contact a NACES-endorsed international transcript evaluation organization to request a transcript evaluation (NOT a transcript translation) to be sent directly to Tri-County Technical College.
  • It is recommended that a request for evaluations be started three (3) months prior to the semester the student intends to enroll.
