Transfer Student

Transfer applicants are students who have previously been enrolled at another college or university and want to begin taking classes at Tri-County Technical College.  To apply as a transfer student, follow the steps below.

The South Carolina Transfer and Articulation Center (SCTRAC.org) is a helpful tool to help you plan your transfer.

To apply as a transfer student, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Apply for Admission 

  • Submit an Application for General Admission.
  • Pay a non-refundable application fee. 
  • Provide satisfactory Reading, English, and Math Accuplacer placement test scores. 
    • Placement testing may be waived for: 
      • Students that submit official college transcripts showing completion of college-credit in english and math courses (not developmental or transitional. courses) with minimum grades of “C”, or higher, OR  
      • Students that submit sufficient AP/IB scores that earn Math and English college-credit.
  • Submit a final, official high school transcript from an accredited or approved institution OR submit an approved official high school equivalency score report
  • Submit final, official college transcripts from all previously attended colleges or universities.  

Step 2: Apply For Financial Aid 

  • Submit a FAFSA at studentaid.gov.
  • Send to the Office of Financial Aid using TCTC’s FAFSA Code: 004926.

Step 3: Complete Orientation: 

  • Follow instructions in acceptance letter to access:  
    • MyTCTC portal  
    • Student email account 
  • Complete the online Orientation modules. 

Step 4: Advising & Registration 

  • Register for an Advising & Registration session. 
  • Attend an Advising & Registration event to meet with an advisor and register for classes. 

Step 5: Payment & Enrollment Confirmation 

  • Pay tuition and fees by the assigned deadline. 
    • Students who do not pay by the deadline may be dropped from classes.
