The
Anderson County Woman’s Club
Since its inception in 1971, the Anderson County Woman’s Club
has had a goal to encourage the educational, literary, cultural
and civic growth of Anderson County. One of the ways it has accomplished
this goal is through the awarding of scholarships at Anderson College
and Tri-County Technical College.
“I
am a thirty-four-year-old returning student, and this scholarship
will mean an extra semester for me. I must work to support myself,
and this scholarship will be a tremendous help. I am ultimately
working towards my masters in education, and I hope to be able to
touch someone’s life as you have touched mine.” Kimberly

One
of the recipients of the Donald B. McPhail Memorial Scholarship,
which Nancy Garrison helped to endow, was Brenda Bowers (center)
a business management major of Central. Pictured with Brenda are
former State senator T. Ed Garrison and his wife, Juanita, of Anderson.
Senator and Mrs. Garrison were also contributors to the scholarship
endowment.
