FAQs
for Bridge Participants:
How do I participate in the Bridge program?
Bridge program participants are students who apply to Clemson University and narrowly miss regular acceptance into Clemson. From this pool of students, Clemson invites qualified students into the Bridge to Clemson program, and students receive a letter of invitation from Clemson University. Invited students who are interested in receiving more information about the Bridge program from Tri-County submit their interest to Clemson, which then forwards their student information to Tri-County. Tri-County sends these students more information about the Bridge program, including an advance payment form for students to reserve their space in the program.
Invited students are not officially accepted into the Bridge to Clemson program until they have paid an advance payment to reserve their space. Since spaces in this very popular program are limited, students are urged to submit their interest and reserve their space as early as possible.
When will
I be notified about Bridge Orientation?
Orientation for Bridge students will be held June 16, June 18, July 14, or July 16 depending on your assigned dates. Tri-County
Technical College and Clemson University collaborate to provide an
Orientation tailored specifically for students participating in the Bridge
program. You will receive notification in early May regarding the date, time, and location
of Orientation as soon as the details have been finalized.
Can Bridge students purchase a meal plan?
Bridge students can purchase a meal plan at the Tiger 1 Card office located on the first floor of Fike Recreation Center. Another option, however, is to deposit funds in a TigerStripe account so that you can eat at the café on Tri-County's campus, in addition to most dining facilities on Clemson's campus and at many restaurants in the area. More information regarding the TigerStripe account and meal plans will be provided at Bridge Orientation.
What are the housing arrangements for students participating in Bridge?
Community Living is one of the most important experiences for a first-year college student. Bridge students will live in four-person apartments at the Highpointe of Clemson, located four miles from TCTC and two miles from Clemson University. Students will sign individual leases with Highpointe through the Bridge Program Office. Upper class resident advisers will be available for assistance, counseling, and coordinating social and academic programs throughout the year. Daily transit service will be provided to TCTC and Clemson University for students living at Highpointe while classes are scheduled. For property information, visit Highpointe’s website at http://www.tomwinkopp.com/developments.php?details=35. (Note that the fees and other information may not be accurate for the Bridge Program
