Welding Skills/Certification
The Welding Department at Tri-County technical College offers a variety of courses designed to meet your welding needs. Mr. Paul Phelps and Mr. Scott Brabham are available to evaluate your previous welding training and experience, and to recommend the most relevant course to meet your personal and /or professional goals. Their offices are located in the Welding Lab in the lower level of Clarke Hall. Please call Mr. Phelps (864-646-1405) or Mr. Brabham (864-646-1406) to make an appointment.

1. For first-time students we recommend Welding 104, Gas Welding and Cutting, 56- hour college credit course that will teach basic welding skills. The total cost for this course will vary with tuition but is approximately $225 plus the cost of any equipment you pu4chase. This course is offered three times a year at the beginning of each term (Fall, Spring, and Summer). Students must complete the college admissions process for this course but there is no placement test required. Contact Mr. Phelps or Mr. Brabham for additional information.

2. For experienced students who desire to upgrade their skills or to learn different welding techniques the following refresher courses are available:
