Nurse Aide
The Nurse Aide is the primary direct care giver in long term care, home health, hospitals, and private duty services. The demand is great for this healthcare worker due to the aging population. It is an excellent entry level career, and serves as a starting point which can lead to a variety of other careers in healthcare. In only 4 weeks you can begin working, what a quick start to a health care career. If you love helping people, have compassion, and want to make a real difference in the life of someone, this is the career for you.

Our program is approved by DHHS and qualifies you to take the required SC Nurse Aide Competency Exam to work in a variety of healthcare facilities and organizations. Our state exam is also a national exam and is recognized in most states throughout the USA and will permit you to work in these states. Check our schedule of classes. We offer them in Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens Counties and in several scheduling formats. We have both day and evening class.

If you are thinking about career as a registered nurse, you might want to consider taking this course first to confirm your career choice. You will learn the basic patient care skills that are used in nursing and could secure a part time job as a nurse aide while in nursing school.

Online Nurse Aide (SC Department of Health and Human Services approved)
In cooperation with one of our sister community colleges, Tri-County Technical College offers this blended course. With this course you are able to complete the classroom portion of the course from home or any computer with internet access. You can register and begin any time. You will need to check our regularly scheduled nurse aide course offerings to select when to complete your laboratory times and clinical experience. South Carolina requires 40 hours of clinical experience to quality to sit for the state certification exam.

This course gives you the flexibility of choosing to complete the course at a time that works with your schedule. It is a great advantage for people with busy schedules, those currently taking other college courses, as well as a great way to take part of the course without driving to the campus. You will be given immediate feedback on your course work. To date our online students taking the SC Nurse Aide Certification Exam have passed.
