Free and Confidential Safety Audits
In fiscal year 2001, OSHA inspected 2,177 companies in South Carolina. These inspections resulted in 5,192 citations for a total of $900,530 in adjusted fines. We realize it’s difficult to establish and maintain a comprehensive safety program with limited in-house resources. We can help.

Our OSHA-Authorized Outreach Trainer, Richard Parker, can provide free consultation service to assist your company in developing an OSHA-compliant safety and health program. Richard has over ten years of practical, hands-on experience in developing and administering safety programs.

Once you’ve begun your enhanced safety program, we can help you maximize its effectiveness for a reasonable cost. You can choose from periodic facilitated safety meetings, required training, facility inspections, chemical inventories, MSDS updates, and other safety-related activities. The World Class Training Center here at Tri-County offers a variety of OSHA-approved safety training courses for employers, supervisors, and associates.

For more information, contact Richard Parker at (864) 646-1718 or toll-free (within the 864 area code) 1-866-269-5677, ext. 1718, or via email rparker@tctc.edu.

Job Profiling Through WorkKeys - Building a Winning Workforce
WorkKeys has helped companies cut the cost of recruiting, hiring, and training. It’s also helped companies reduce costs associated with overtime and downtime. WorkKeys assists employers by identifying the skills employees need to be successful on the job and by determining where additional training will help build a higher performance workforce. This comprehensive program has been adopted by business, industry, government agencies, and educational institutions in 41 states.

WorkKeys offers a complete spectrum of job analysis, assessment, reporting, and training needs. The program is built around a common scale of generic employability skills, including: Reading for Information, Applied Mathematics, Listening, Writing, Teamwork, Applied Technology, Locating Information, and Observation.

The job profiling process accurately determines the key skills and the level of performance that are required to be successful on the job. The assessment process measures the actual skill levels of individuals.

ACT™, an international leader in educational assessment developed this highly successful program. ACT™ believes that the proper use of WorkKeys assessments, in conjunction with appropriate employer job profiling, will meet the requirements set forth by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in the Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection Procedures.

WorkKeys benefits:

  • Reduces the high costs associated with poor hiring decisions, including those for lost production, turnover, rehiring, and additional training
  • Increases productivity by placing job applicants and employees in jobs that match their skills
  • Assists in selecting employees with needed skills while meeting Americans with Disabilities (ADA) and EEOC requirements
  • Meets ISO/QS 9000 standards

For additional information on how WorkKeys can benefit your organization, please contact our certified WorkKeys profiler, Karen Shobe, at 646-1715 or toll-free (within the 864 area code) at 1-866-269-5677, ext. 1715. Or email Karen at kshobe@tctc.edu.
