This distance learning course provides the basic information required to operate pool or spa in compliance with DHEC regulations and prepares the operator to take the State Certification Examination to become a certified pool or spa operator. It covers South Carolina rules and regulations, legal requirements, swimming pool structures, basic operation of public pools and spas, basic pool water chemistry and chemicals, techniques for solving water problems, and safety.

Please register for the examination with the Environmental Certification Board. Recommend applications be submitted several months in advance. Tuition does not include examination fee.
