The Motorcycle Safety classes at Tri-County Technical College are offered through the South Carolina Rider Education Program (SCREP). From a course for people who have never ridden a motorcycle and are interested in learning basic skills to riders who just want to sharpen their skills and share their experience with other riders classes are available for individuals of all skill levels. Course curriculum for all levels of safety training is in compliance with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. All coaches/trainers are certified by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation.
The classes listed below are designed to help you become a safe, more prepared driver or to help prepare you for the licensing requirements in the state of South Carolina.
Motor vehicle crashes are the No. 1 cause of occupational fatalities and the leading cause of death for ages 2-39 and ages 50-72. Plus, the increasing number of new drivers and vehicles on the road creates a continuing need for defensive driving training across all age groups. While this class typically is taken for point reduction you may be interested in taking it to update your personal defensive driving knowledge.
Corporate and Community Education provides the National Safety Council 8-hour Defensive Driving Course which is recognized as a part of South Carolina's point reduction program. Learn more.
