Building Resilience

One of the most important abilities your student can have is resilience – in college and in life. According to the Mayo Clinic, “Resilience means being able to adapt to life's misfortunes and setbacks”. And, of course, a college experience will, at some point, involve misfortunes and setbacks. As will life. The good news is that resilience is a type of skill and mindset that can be improved with purposeful practice over time. How can you, as a parent or other important person in your student’s life, help them build resilience?
