Tips for Successful Transfer:
Tri-County has in place transfer agreements with many other postsecondary institutions. The agreements are updated continually, but it’s important to note that the final decision regarding the transfer of credit is up to the receiving institution. Be sure you work closely with your Tri-County advisor as well as with appropriate official(s) at the college or university you plan to attend in order to ensure a successful transfer experience.
Transfer Programs:
The College has two programs (Associate in Arts and Associate in Science), also called University Transfer programs, that are designed to transfer to senior colleges and universities.
Other associate degree programs at Tri-County are designed to be career programs. These programs prepare graduates to enter employment in their chosen fields, following graduation. However, numbers of courses in the career programs DO transfer to specific four-year colleges and universities. In fact, there are several transfer agreements in place that are designed especially for graduates of career programs. If you are considering transferring from one of Tri-County’s career associate degree programs, discuss your plans right away with your department head.

This officer administers the transfer degree programs (Associate in Arts and Associate in Science) and coordinates the advising of transfer students. State Regulations and Information:
The South Carolina Commission on Higher Education (CHE) maintains regulations and procedures for transfer in public two-year and four-year institutions. The commission also provides helpful information on transfer and articulation in South Carolina.
