Geography State Fun – Did you know that the state dance of SC is the shag? That Pepsi was invented and first served in New Bern, NC and in Gainesville, Ga. it’s illegal to eat chicken with a fork? Learn this and more through video clips and research fun!

Paint Like a Pro! – Using tempera cakes and watercolor, the student will learn to mix and blend colors. Landscapes, people and animals will also be covered as well as learning to paint like Money or Van Gogh Impressionism style! June 9-12 9-10:30AM, 10:45-12:15PM

Power Point Photo Album Scrap Booking – Introduce Power Point program by creating an exciting photo album scrapbook! Students will bring photos from home to scan and create their own personal scrapbook the modern way!

Surviving with the Explorers! – The Age of Exploration (who, what, where & why) Create a compass, astrolabe, and a globe! Students will take an imaginary voyage and see if they can SURVIVE!

Basic Computer Animation – Learn the basics of digital through basic movements, frame creating and saving animation characters! Create a storyboard and combine graphics and animation together. A short movie will be created!

Podcasting - Learn to edit, mix sounds, music and voice recordings. Create a script that includes sound effects, music and editing. Record your voice in your podcast and finalize your podcast saving it to an mp3 format! Finally you can share it with the world on the Podcast Website!

Book It! – Read books and have related activities to the story read like cooking, crafts, paper air planes, boats and games like Kash Cab and board games ! Loads of fun for all!

Fashion Crafts: Express Your Personality Through Accessories – You’ll sew on buttons, decorate a hat, craft a belt, and macramé fashion jewelry that expresses your own unique personality. Use your fashion designer sense and crafting skills to make fun and useful fashion items.

Gone to the Dogs!- Study about 7 groups of dogs, read books, dog safety, obedience training, care, and dog show competitions! Teacher will have guest speaker as well as have guest dogs to demonstrate.

MultiCulturalism C3 – Study about Japan, Jamaica, France by reading, researching, cooking andmaking crafts from the countries mentioned above!

Young Chefs – You’re going to have a great time learning to create your own gourmet dishes. You will learn how to create main dishes for your family meals, cook up great snacks for parties and make desserts including fondue that will be a winner with everyone who eats them. Materials included.

Cake Decorating – In this fun filled class, young bakers will learn how to professionally decorate a cake. You will learn to create a variety of flowers, borders, leaves, and writing techniques. Some special occasion decorations will also be taught. And most important, how to ice a cake and make it look professional. The instructor will provide you with the skills needed for you to be able to take care of your own cakes instead of ordering them. Materials and supplies provided.

Kids Serving It Up! – Learning to identify food groups and a balanced meal, but best of all learn to cook up yummy, healthy meals for all in a real kitchen! Students will cook pancakes, chicken nuggets and healthy pizza with Gregory from the book Gregory the Terrible Eater!

All Kinds of Weaving! – Students will learn to create straw, loom and finger weaving! Learn warp and weft, tying off weaving skills and adding beads and fringes to their work. Background of the history of weaving will also be discussed.

Gyotaku(Japanese fish printing) and Quilling – Learn how to print with a fish the Japanese way! Also students will learn to use paper strips in various shapes to create beautiful designs with quilling made popular during American Colonialism.

4 Days Around the World! – Create art from all the continents from 2 different teachers! Reading, viewing short videos, and creating crafts from all the continents of the world! Wonders of the World, masks, origami, rubbings are a few of the fun things covered!

Juvenile Investigators in Training – A great course on self-defense tips, actual criminal investigation, forensic activities(fingerprinting) and the court systems! Can you solve the case?

There Ought to Be a Law – Cover the Constitution of the US. Why do we have laws? How does a law get made? Community roles and importance of our roles to work and help others. Living with influence…. Should we follow the crowd? Role playing also takes place in this informative fun course!

Paper Magic! – Learn to make paper, fold Origami, make 3-D paper shapes, pop up cards and collage design! Loads of fun with paper art.

Puppet Play – Learn to make all sorts of puppets like finger puppets, origami puppets and shadow puppets. We will also learn to make a puppet theater out of a cardboard and put on a play!

Stepping! – Great fun! Introduce rhythm, fundamentals of stepping, history of stepping, drawing from the movements of Four Tops and Temptations. Many objects can be used in stepping from hats, canes, tap shoes and more!

Basketball – Learn fundamentals of playing the game of basketball. You will learn defense, offense, dribbling techniques and much more!
