PENDLETON --- Robby Peden, of Walhalla, and William Scoggins, of Donalds, were the winners among the 84 players in Tri-County Technical College's Seventeenth Annual Alumni Association Golf Tournament held April 26.

A low score of 58 won the team the first-place trophy in the Captain's Choice golf tournament held at Falcon's Lair in Walhalla.

Father-son teams won second and third place. Jim McCoy and James McCoy, both of Walhalla, took second place, and Mac Garrett, of Easley, and Thomas Garrett, of Pelzer, won third place.

The tournament netted $9,670, and a portion of the proceeds will be contributed to the Don C. Garrison Instructional Excellence Endowment. In past years, the tournament proceeds completed the Association's second endowed scholarship and named a room in the College's Hayden Abney Fulp Building. The first scholarship was endowed in 1995, and since 1990, the Alumni Association has contributed $45,000 to the College's Foundation.
