Annual Textile Banquet at Tri-County Technical College

PENDLETON - Twenty-two students will receive scholarships totaling $66,000 at Tri-County Technical College's 27th annual Textile Management Scholarship Awards Banquet Monday, October 11.
The two-year $3,000 scholarships cover the costs of tuition, books and fees for two years of textile management study at Tri-County.
This year's scholarship recipients (listed by county and city) are:
ANDERSON COUNTY: Sydney V. Brown, J. Anthony Chapman, Johnny M. Crocker, K. Gene Nichols, Timothy L. Osborne and Crystal L. Scruggs, all of Anderson; Vicki J. Fields, of Honea Path; Joel W. McMullan of Iva; Adam M. Goldsmith and James R. Williams, both of Pendleton; and Nancy J. Stone, of Townville.
PICKENS COUNTY: Kenneth R. Byers, David L. Gerrald, Jr. and J. Chris Hayes, all of Pickens; Dorothy L. Weber, of Liberty; J. David Thatcher and Michael D. Whitaker, both of Easley; Timothy P. Spencer, of Central; and Benjamin G. Rippy, of Clemson.
OCONEE COUNTY: R. Josh Adams and Tonya M. Prater, both of Westminster; and M. Lisa Harrison, of Seneca.
Tri-county textile firms who donated scholarships for first- and second-year students this year are: Alice Manufacturing Company; Avondale Mills; Blair Mills; Chiquola Industrial Products Group; Collins and Aikman, Inc.; Glen Raven Mills; Hexcel Schwebel; Kent Manufacturing Company; La France Industries; Mayfair Mills; Orian Rugs; Safety Components Fabric Technology; and WestPoint Stevens -- Clemson and Seneca plants.
There are 10 endowed scholarships that are funded through the support and investments of the Alice Manufacturing Company, Avondale Mills, Glen Raven Mills and the J. E. Sirrine Textile Foundation.
