Four Community Leaders Join Tri-County’s Foundation Board

PENDLETON --- Four community leaders have been elected to serve on Tri-County Technical College’s Foundation Board.

Joining the Board’s current members will be Corinne Cannon, of Clemson, and Hugh Durham, of Williamston. In addition, Pruitt Martin, of Anderson, and Neal Workman, of Walhalla, were appointed as ex-officio members representing the College's Commission.

Members of the Foundation Board raise money to supplement appropriations thereby helping the College to meet the educational needs of the citizens of the tri-county area.

Corinne CannonMs. Cannon is a general practice attorney in Clemson. She came to Clemson in 1977 when she and her late husband opened their practice. She earned her B.S. from Erskine prior to attending the USC School of Law. She was admitted to the Bar in 1973.

She is a member of the Clemson Rotary Club and the Clemson Chamber of Commerce. She currently chairs the Pickens County Zoning Appeals Committee and has served on boards for the Ninety Six Girl Scout Council, Oconee County Hospice, YMCA and the Oconee Memorial Hospital. She is past president of the Pickens County Bar Association and the S.C. Family Law Bar Association.

Hugh DurhamMr. Durham has been a realtor for 33 years. He established the first Coldwell Banker office in South Carolina and the local Multiple Listing Service. He is a life member of the top Producers Club and a past board president of the Anderson Association of Realtors.

He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from Clemson University and is a former agriculture teacher.

He and his wife reside in Williamston. He serves as a deacon and Sunday School teacher at Whitefield Baptist Church.

Pruitt MartinMr. Martin has 25 years of banking experience and is the Regional Executive for Anderson and Oconee counties/Senior Vice President for The Palmetto Bank. He was appointed to the Commission in 2004.

He holds a B. S. in Banking and Finance from the University of South Carolina and is a graduate of the School of Retail Bank Management at the University of Virginia.

He serves on the board of directors for the Anderson Area YMCA and is a member of the Anderson Rotary Club. He is the former chairman of the Anderson Area YMCA, former president of the Anderson Country Club and past chairman of the Young Bankers Division of the South Carolina Bankers Association. He also served on the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Neal WorkmanMr. Workman is founder and president of Trehel Corp., an unlimited licensed general contracting firm located in Clemson. He has served on Tri-County's Commission since 2001.

He serves on several non-profit boards in the area, including representing Region One on the State Heritage Corridor Board. He serves on Clemson University's Industry Advisory Board for the College of Architecture and Humanities, is a member of the executive committee for the Collins Children's Home, and is past chair of the Anderson County Economic Development Partnership. In 1999, he was named the Business Person of the Year by the Clemson Chamber of Commerce, and he received the annual Community Service Award from the Clemson Rotary Club in 2003. He holds a B.A. degree in Economics from Wofford College.
