Tri-County Alumni to Talk About Career Success at October 22 Forum

PENDLETON --- A panel of seven Tri-County alumni will talk about their careers and will offer real-world tips for career success to students and alumni at the College's Careers for the Real World alumni forum set for October 22.

The event, scheduled from 6 – 8 p.m. in the Cafeteria, is open to current students and alumni of the College. It is sponsored by the Job Placement and Cooperative Education Office and the Alumni Association.

Following the presentations, students will have a chance to ask questions and then to attend one of three concurrent workshops: "Resumes and Cover Letters," "Interviews" and "Money Management."

"We believe that participants will receive several benefits from the program," said Amy Fendley, job placement coordinator at the College. "Presenters will provide information that is personal, concrete and immediately applicable. The presentations will be a powerful motivator for both career planning and academic success," she said.

Presenters include:
Grayson Dove, a Radio and Television Broadcasting alumnus who is a control room operator at WYFF-TV in Greenville

Lt. Darrell Hill, a Criminal Justice major who is employed by the Anderson County Sheriff's Department

Mike Dean, a Business Technology alumnus who is vice president and general manager of Budweiser of Anderson

Valerie Ramsey, a University Transfer graduate, who is an accountant/fiscal analyst for the Dean's Office of the College of Health, Education and Human Development at Clemson University

Eugene Grant, an Electronics Engineering Technology graduate who is a technical trainer at Robert Bosch Corp.

Bobbi Montgomery, a Business Technology alumna who is owner of Greeting Cards, Etc. in Anderson

Louise Vandiver, a Surgical Technology graduate who is department head for Tri-County's Surgical Technology department.

"We feel it can be motivating for our students to see what our alumni have done," added Fendley. "They will give real-world tips for career success in a variety of fields. Any student can benefit from this event."
