Dallas Jones Elected Student Coordinator of the
S.C. Society of Clinical Laboratory Science

PENDLETON --- Dallas Jones, who has led Tri-County Technical College's Medical Laboratory Technology program since its inception in 1972, has been elected student coordinator of the S.C. Society of Clinical Laboratory Science (SCSCLS) by its board of directors.
The organization is an affiliate of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science, a national organization representing clinical laboratory scientists in the United States. Mrs. Jones, of Anderson, has been a member since 1967.
"Dallas Jones' contributions to the South Carolina Society of Clinical Laboratory Science are greatly appreciated by the organization," said Terri Leszczyszyn, president of SCSCLS. "She is a credit to our organization as she must be to Tri-County Tech." Members volunteer their services to the society, creating educational programs for members and the general public, as well as guiding health care policy on a local and national level.
Mrs. Jones joined Tri-County in 1970 to begin a new program, the certified laboratory assistant program, which she headed for two years before founding the Medical Laboratory Technology Department. Under her leadership, the program achieved maximum accreditation by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
In 1990 she was honored with the Presidential Medallion for Instructional Excellence, the highest award presented to faculty at the College.
She holds a bachelor of science degree from Limestone College and a master's in education from Central Michigan University. In addition, she holds a medical technology degree from the Medical University of South Carolina
She and her husband, Wayne, have two adult children.
