New Defensive Computing Class Offered at Tri-CountyFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 9/13/2004 PENDLETON --- Tri-County Technical College will offer a Defensive Computing class beginning October 18. Students will learn software and hardware maintenance and preventive care for PCs. Class topics include various types of back-ups and back-up media, anti-virus programs, firewalls, UPS', spam, spyware, security and more. In addition, students will learn how to prepare for the most common problems (boot failures, freezes, program crashes, running slow, Internet connection failures) and will receive a checklist of things to do when dealing with these problems. The prerequisite for the class is the Introduction to Computers course.
Each class is six hours and costs $85. Day, evening and Saturday classes
are offered at the Anderson Mall and on the main campus. For more information,
