FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 2/21/2002
(By Lisa Garrett)

PENDLETON --- Student Support Services, a TRIO program at Tri-County Technical College, will sponsor its Eighth Annual College and Career Fair March 6.

Representatives from 30 colleges across the state will be available from 10 a.m. – noon, and approximately 21 businesses will set up information tables from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the College's cafeteria. The event is free and open to Tri-County students and the public. It is held in conjunction with the Carolinas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (CACRAO).

Cindy Trimmier-Lee, coordinator of Tri-County's Student Support Services program, advises attendees to come with resumes in hand. "One of the many benefits of the fair is that employers will be actively looking for new employees," she said. Students will have the opportunity to network with representatives from area businesses, colleges and universities.

The College and Career Fair gives students the chance to meet and gather more information about career and work-based learning opportunities, said Mrs. Trimmier-Lee.

She added that college representatives will be accepting applications and talking individually with persons who are planning to transfer to a senior institution.

"We urge persons to take advantage of the unique opportunity of having a number of resources in one place," said Cindy Trimmier-Lee. "We are open to the community and offer hands-on information about colleges and businesses," she said.

"We anticipate this fair to be our best," she added.
