PENDLETON – Dan Bechtold, of Seneca, and Bill Carwile, of Cheraw, were the winners among the 108 players in Tri-County Technical College's Fourteenth Annual Alumni Association Golf Tournament held April 15.

A low score of 66 won the team the first-place trophy in the Captain's Choice golf tournament held at Falcon's Lair in Walhalla.

Ronnie Lackey of Easley, and Ted Ford, of Hendersonville, N.C., took second place, and Greg Pearson of Pelzer, and Trey Cantey of Greenville won third place.

In addition, Mike Haymond, of Seneca, won a trophy for closest to the pin on hole 16, and John Thorne, of Easley, won a trophy for longest drive on hole 17. Charlie Mays, of Seneca, won the putting contest.

The tournament netted $6,300 which will be applied toward the second payment of a $15,000 pledge to name a room in the College's Health/Science Building. In past years, the tournament proceeds completed the Association's second endowed scholarship.
