Annual Multicultural Celebration Set for April 13

PENDLETON --- Tri-County Technical College will celebrate ?the colors
of the world? Wednesday, April 13, with food, fun and entertainment
during its annual Multicultural/Spring Bash Celebration.

The free event will begin at 12:20 p.m. on the Student Center Mall area
and will conclude at 2:20 p.m. The public is invited to attend. In
the event of rain, the celebration will be held in the cafeteria.

"We'll have musical performances of various genres, international
cuisine from local restaurants and a talent contest," said Kena
Steeple, access and equity coordinator and academic and career
counselor at the College.

Entertainment will include:
Paula Heusinkveld & Jorge Medina, a married couple with
Mexican-American roots, will be singing and playing Latin music
Folklore Espanol, a Classico flamenco dance troupe
Enoch's Karate and Nutrition Center, Anderson
Preston Gravely, a bag piper from Anderson

You'll be able to sample cuisines from a variety of different cultures,
including American, Asian, Mediterranean and African/Caribbean.
Participating restaurants include Atami Express, Seneca; Dyar's Diner
in Pendleton; India Place, Greenville; La Bamba, Anderson; Mutt's BBQ
in Seneca; and The Rivera in Clemson.

"Our goal for the celebration is to promote cultural awareness and
appreciation for the growing diversity of our area," said Steeple.

The event is sponsored by the Access and Equity Office, Student
Government Association and the Cultural Enrichment Committee.
