Tri-County Board Welcomes Three New Members

PENDLETON --- Tri-County Technical College welcomed three new area commission members during its June board meeting.

Governor Jim Hodges appointed Rosemary Lindley, of Anderson, W. H. (Ham) Hudson of Seneca, and Neal Workman of Walhalla, to serve three-year terms as members of the Anderson-Oconee-Pickens Technical Education Commission.

Mrs. Lindley is an Anderson native and is a graduate of Oklahoma State University where she received a B. S. in Fashion Merchandising. She also earned a teaching certification from Clemson University. Following a career in retail, she worked as an English and social studies teacher at McCants Middle School from 1985 - 92 and served as head of the school's English department from 1986 - 90.

She is a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Anderson and is an adult Sunday School teacher. She is a member and past president of the Anderson Garden Club, a charter member of the Anderson Woman's Club and a sustaining member of the Anderson Junior League. She is president of the Golden Girls Investment Club and is active with the Anderson Museum. She and her husband, Charles D. Lindley, have two adult children.

Mr. Workman is a McCormick native and holds a B.A. degree in economics from Wofford College. He began his career with Milliken Company, and after three years, he accepted a position with Walhalla Builders, a residential development company. He spent the following three years developing subdivisions and building homes. Vector Corporation, a commercial construction company grew out of Walhalla Builders and for the next nine years, he served as its executive vice president. In 1982 he founded Trehel Corp., an unlimited licensed general contracting firm located in Clemson.

He serves on several non-profit boards in the area, including representing Region One on the State Heritage Corridor Board. He serves on Clemson University's Industry Advisory Board for the College of Architecture and Humanities and is a member of the executive committee for the Collins Children's Home. He is vice chair of the Anderson County Economic Development Partnership, and in 1999, he was named the Business Person of the Year by the Clemson Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife, Fay, have two adult children, Helen and Tres.

Mr. Hudson is the president at Oconee Memorial Hospital where he has served for 30 years. He is very involved in the medical community and its organizations. He is a member of the board of directors of Seneca National Bank and the Palmetto Hospital Trust Services, Ltd., and he chairs the board of trustees for the S.C. Hospital Association.

He is a former member of the board of governors for the S.C. Medical Malpractice Patients Compensation Fund. He is a diplomat for the American College of Healthcare Executives and is a former S.C. delegate for the American Hospital Association. He received the S.C. Hospital Association Merit Award in 1983 and the Association's Distinguished Service Award in 1992. He holds a B.A. in business and sociology from Limestone College and a certificate in hospital administration. He and his wife, Wilma, live in Seneca and have four children and six grandchildren.
