PENDLETON --- Each of you has the power to be heroes to patients by providing the best health care possible, Debbie Herman, MSN, RN, administrator of the State Board of Nursing, South Carolina, told Tri-County Technical College's 50 associate degree nursing graduates at a pre-graduation pinning ceremony.

"You will have vast opportunities to make significant changes, one patient at a time, one community at a time. You will become heartfelt heroes," said Ms. Herman, who has spent 22 years as a professional nurse.

"Heroes are real-life citizens doing the best job they can at what they do," she said.
