Tri-County Offers Unique Gift for Administrative Professionals Day

(By Lisa Garrett)

PENDLETON --- Looking for a new way to express your gratitude to your administrative assistant on Administrative Professionals Day (April 23)?

Instead of sending the traditional flowers and balloons, present him or her with the opportunity to attend a special training conference at Tri-County Technical College that includes professional development sessions, in addition to lunch and a fashion show.

Registration and networking are at 8 a.m. and the day kicks off with a "Telephone Etiquette" seminar followed by "Time Management Skills." Neal Williams, an instructor with Tri-County's Continuing Education Division, will lead both classes. A fashion show by Looking Glass Boutique in Anderson will be combined with the luncheon. "Speaking with Confidence" and "Putting the Customer First" are the afternoon sessions. They will be led by Continuing Education instructors Phyllis Turner and Karen Shobe, respectively.

"We develop and conduct training courses geared toward supervisory, technical, and maintenance skills, but we don't often offer seminars designed especially for the administrative specialist -- a group of professionals who are very important to any company," said Rana Sargent, training coordinator for the World Class Training Center. "Tri-County is proud to offer this unique course which can benefit the administrative assistant, as well as the business."

The cost is $195 per attendee. For more information or to register, contact Rana Sargent at rsargent@tctc.edu or 646-8361, Ext. 1716.
