PENDLETON --- Sam Pickens and J.O. Padgett, both of Anderson, were the winners among the 90 players in Tri-County Technical College's Sixteenth Annual Alumni Association Golf Tournament held April 6.
A low score of 62 won the team the first-place prize in the Captain's Choice golf tournament held at Falcon's Lair in Walhalla.
Jim McCoy and Dusty Ross, both of Walhalla, took second place, and Arnie Hedden, of Central, and Dale Spearman, of Walhalla, won third place.
The Towne House Restaurant, located in downtown Anderson and owned by Keith Claramunt, was the sponsor of this year's tournament.
The tournament netted $8,780.11, and a portion of the proceeds will be applied towards completing the Association's pledge to name a room in the Health/Science building. In past years, the tournament proceeds completed the Association's second endowed scholarship. The first scholarship was endowed in 1995, and since 1990, the Alumni Association has contributed $45,000 to the College's Foundation.
