Tri-County Honors Students at Annual Awards CeremonyCONTACT: LISA GARRETT, EXT. 1506 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 5/11/2004 PENDLETON --- "Continue to learn -- accomplishing this goal is just the beginning," Tri-County Technical College President Ronnie L. Booth told a group of Tri-County students being honored at an annual awards ceremony. Dr. Booth centered his remarks around the definition of leadership. "If you aspire to be a leader, you'll need experiences. Put in your time and pay your dues," he advised. He emphasized the power of setting goals for the next five to 10 years. "Leadership is about continual personal and professional development," he added. "It's not about you but about those you lead. Whether you are a nurse, teacher, or a mechanic, it's about those you serve. Take care of them, and the rest will take care of itself," he said. Leadership is a process, one day at a time, he said. "Leadership certainly doesn't mean you have it all figured out. It's about taking risks and admitting when you're wrong. Just like pursuing a college degree, leadership requires commitment," he said. "I encourage you to do all things well." After his speech, the following awards were presented: Joshua Shane Miller, of Liberty, and Brian Andrew Rodgers,
of Central, were among the students from the State's technical
