Twenty-Eight Students Receive Scholarships at
Annual Textile Banquet at Tri-County Technical College

PENDLETON - Twenty-eight students received scholarships at Tri-County Technical College's 29th annual Textile Management Scholarship Awards Banquet Monday, October 8.

The two-year scholarships help to cover the cost of tuition and books for textile management study at Tri-County.

This year's scholarship recipients (listed by county and city) are:

ANDERSON COUNTY: Andrew A. Argo, of Starr; Ricardo Gilbert Becerra-Huerta, Britt J. Grooms, Brad A. Gunter, Levone Guy, Anna C. Hosking, Billy S. Huckabaa, Christopher B. Norris, Jody T. Saylors, and John A. Walker, all of Anderson; Caysie M. McCombs and Jason T. McCombs, both of Pelzer; and Tammy M. Rogers, of Pendleton.

PICKENS COUNTY: Matthew Dale Aiken, Shawn S. Bell, Brenda F. Hunsucker and John M. Milam, all of Liberty; Augustine A. Eweheonu, of Central; Munir Amad, Muhammad Ismail and Garrick N. Robinson, all of Clemson; and James R. Wilson, III, of Easley.

OCONEE COUNTY: Laura R. Ezell, of Walhalla, Charles E. Gantt, Jr., Tawanna L. Gantt, and Craige A. Webb, all of Seneca; and Jeffery L. LeCroy and Cathy L. Sams-Owens, both of Walhalla.

Tri-county textile firms who donated scholarships for first- and second-year students this year are: Alice Manufacturing Company; Avondale Mills; Blair Mills; Chiquola Industrial Products Group; Glen Raven Inc.; Hexcel Schwebel; J.E. Sirrine Textile Foundation; JPS Glass; Kent Manufacturing Company; La France Industries; Orian Rugs; and Safety Components Fabric Technologies.

There are 10 endowed scholarships that are funded through the support and investments of the Alice Manufacturing Company, Avondale Mills, Glen Raven Inc. and the J. E. Sirrine Textile Foundation.
