Dr. Ahmad Chaudhry

Ahmad Chaudhry, Ph.D.

Dean, Health Education Division

 

Dr. Ahmad Chaudhry has more than 18 years of experience in higher education programs focused on health education. His areas of expertise include health sciences, cancer biology and environmental health.

In his current role at Tri-County, Dr. Chaudhry supervises and directs the activities of 30 faculty and staff members comprising nine academic program areas: associate degree nursing, practical nursing, expanded duty dental assisting, medical assisting, medical laboratory technology, surgical technology, emergency medical services/paramedics, pre-pharmacy and veterinary technology. Prior to his role at Tri-County, Dr. Chaudhry served as dean of the Biology and Health Sciences Division at College DuPage, chair of the Public and Allied Health department at Bowling Green State University, and interim associate dean for Research and Faculty Development at the University of Vermont. Other experience includes DNA Microarray Core Facility founding director and Radiation Therapy program director, both at the University of Vermont.

Dr. Chaudhry is the author of 45 peer-reviewed articles and 47 abstracts. He is the recipient of 14 funded grants, and he has reviewed more than 100 manuscripts for 41 international scientific journals. In addition, he reviewed research grants for the National Institute of Health, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and for international funding agencies from Australia, Denmark, Ireland and the United Kingdom.

Dr. Chaudhry has a Bachelor of Science degree in zoology and chemistry and a Master of Science degree in zoology from the University of Punjab in Pakistan. He also has both a Master of Science degree and a doctorate degree in cancer biology from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom.
