Paul Phelps
Interim Dean of the Engineering and Industrial Technology Division
Paul Phelps has a combined 28 years of experience in metalworking in manufacturing and education.
In his current role at Tri-County, Phelps oversees the credit and non-credit programming for the Engineering and Industrial Technology Division which is comprised of the following departments: Industrial Technology (Welding, CNC, and HVAC); Engineering Technology (Engineering Systems Technology, Engineering Design Technology, Automotive Technology, and Manufacturing Management and Leadership, and Mechatronics). He also oversees non-credit programs which include MSHA, Commercial Drivers License, Power Line Worker, Heavy Equipment, CNC Operator, Maintenance and Reliability, Motorcycle Safety, and Leadership.
He also employs innovative approaches to meet the ever-changing needs in the technical education arena through the establishment of partnerships with manufacturers in the tri-county area.
A former TCTC department head for CNC and Welding, he is a certified welding inspector through the American Welding Society (AWS). He also is a certified Welding Educator.
Phelps holds an associate degree in Welding from TCTC and will complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Project Management in the fall of 2025.
