Sue Dacus

VA-certifying Warrior.  Sue Dacus joined the student records team in 1988 as an administrative specialist and over the years has worked various student support positions. She holds a legal secretary diploma from Forrest Junior college, an associate degree in business management from Tri-County (2008) and a bachelor’s degree in human services from Anderson University (2013).

I like the behind-the-scenes energy of student services, “said Sue, who in 2010 was recognized at the South Carolina Technical Education Association (SCTEA) meeting as Tri-County’s outstanding staff member.

Sue and her team of VA Certifying Warriors help around 130 student veterans’ complete documentation needed to certify their enrollment so they can receive their educational benefits for the semester. She also works with everything involved in the student life-cycle, from applications and transcripts to graduation and commencement.

Sue also serves as a SC Thrive counselor. “I like helping students to succeed in every level of their lives and for them to realize their purpose”. She added, “I love the people I work with and I love what I do.
