Mrs. Melanie McLane

Melanie H. McLane of Central was appointed to the Commission in June 2024 and represents Pickens County. She was elected to serve as secretary in April 2026.

She currently serves as the director of human resources for Arthrex, where she oversees more than 2,000 manufacturing employees in Pendleton, SC, and an additional 2,000 in Ave Maria, FL. Arthrex is a global medical device company and a leader in multi-specialty, minimally invasive surgical technology innovation, scientific research, manufacturing, and medical education.

McLane has had the opportunity to live, work, and raise her family in the Upstate of South Carolina. She has spent her entire career in manufacturing, serving in roles across supply chain, engineering, project management, and human resources for organizations such as Lockheed Martin, Michelin, and, most recently, Arthrex.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Clemson University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina. She also maintains her certification as a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).

Melanie is actively engaged in her community, serving professionally on the Anderson Area Business and Education Alliance and as a Tri-County Technical College Commissioner. Personally, she volunteers as an activity school bus driver for Daniel High School and serves as a Poll Clerk for the Pickens County Board of Voter Registration and Elections.

Most importantly, Melanie and her husband, Noah McLane, enjoy staying involved in the activities of their children, Jordan and Carson, who attend Daniel High School and participate in a variety of clubs and athletics. As a family, they enjoy boating on Lake Hartwell, hiking in the foothills, and have recently taken up pickleball on the weekends.

Melanie believes that solutions begin with self-reflection and that every problem presents an opportunity in disguise.
