Limitless Learning (Commons)

When you picture college, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? I think it is safe to say that for most of us, we picture the classroom we will be in. Whether it’s a lecture hall, lab, or typical arrangement of desks and a whiteboard, we can easily imagine what our learning space will be.
However, what we may not acknowledge is that although the classroom may be the first image to pop into our minds, as college students, most of your time will be spent outside of the classroom. Unlike high school where you went to the same four to six classes each and every day for the same period of time, college means a lot less time in the classroom and a lot more time of independent study.
While that may be a scary thought for some of us, don’t worry! At Tri-County Technical College, you have the opportunity for limitless learning in our Learning Commons. Designed with you in mind, our Learning Commons strive to make learning a pleasant possibility for you. The Learning Commons at TCTC extends beyond the basics to ensure that your education is supported and that you are empowered.
Our Learning Commons is composed of our library, tutoring center, and makerspaces. The library offers our students access to thousands of electronic and printed resources to make your research process less time-consuming. Furthermore, we provide computers, printers, versatile seating, and open spaces to lessen the stress of studying for you.
Our tutoring center offers both online and in-person tutoring opportunities for our students at absolutely no cost to you. Depending on what your strengths are and where you would like to be strengthened, our tutoring services will help to provide you with the resources you need to be successful.
Lastly, our makerspaces are ready for reservations! Makerspaces are rooms scattered across our Learning Commons that you and your peers can reserve for group projects or study sessions. So, whether you are working as a team or studying solo, you have endless opportunities in your grasp at TCTC.
Our Learning Commons paves the way for your limitless learning!
