Michelin Technical Scholars

Michelin North America offers a scholarship program to students attending Tri-County Technical College. The scholarship covers the cost of tuition, fees, and books. Scholarship recipients also gain on-the-job experience through part-time employment opportunities with Michelin.


Good candidates for this program are students with strong math, science, and reading comprehension skills who are enrolled in Industrial Electronics Technology, Mechatronics Technology, or General Engineering Technology programs.


To be eligible for consideration for the Michelin Scholars Program, students must pass an aptitude test administered by Michelin officials and interview with plant representatives. You must also

  • Be enrolled full time (12 credit hours/semester (9 hrs. in summer)
  • Be 18 years old 
  • Have and maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher (first semester students are also eligible to apply)
  • Be able to work at least 20 hours/week in the Michelin program
  • Pass the Michelin pre-employment test (given on campus)

How to apply

  • Complete the work-based learning application and email it to the office of Career and Employability Resources
  • Once application is complete, please inform Rodney Estrada, restrada@tctc.edu, to let him know you have completed the application
  • Students who pass the assessment will be given an application for Michelin
  • Resume not required
