TRI-COUNTY TECHNICAL COLLEGES

At Tri-County Technical College, we prepare for the possibility of inclement weather throughout the year. Any decision to close the College and/or cancel classes will be announced using the College’s inclement weather notification procedures described below.

INCLEMENT WEATHER NOTIFICATIONS WILL BE ISSUED TO STUDENTS AND EMPLOYEES AS FOLLOWS:

Emergency Notifications. If classes are canceled or the College is closed, the College will send a notification via text message, email and voicemail.

TCTC uses the Regroup Mass Notification® system to send emergency notifications. Students and employees are automatically registered in the Regroup system upon admission, registration and/or employment. However, the College encourages students and employees to review and confirm the accuracy of their contact information in the Regroup system on an annual basis.

To access Regroup, follow these steps:

  1. Go to https://tctc.regroup.com/signup and log-in to Regroup using your TCTC credentials.
  2. Once logged in, click on the circle icon in the top right corner of your screen and select “My Profile” from the drop-down menu.
  3. Update your contact information as needed and click “Save.”
  4. Next, click on “Notifications” on the left side of your screen.
  5. Make sure all of the notification options are set to “On.” If they are not set to “On,” click the down arrow under each heading, select “On,” and then click Save.

In addition to the Emergency Notifications listed above, inclement weather closing information also will be announced as follows:

  • Public Website: Visit tctc.edu to check for inclement weather announcements posted at the top of the home page.

Additional information:

  • Do not rely on local media outlets (TV and radio) for closing information and directions. Those announcements are designed for the general public. Please refer to direct communications from the College to be sure that you have complete details.
  • EMPLOYEES: If the College closes, only essential personnel (e.g., maintenance, campus police) should report to work. If classes are canceled but the College is open, employees should use their judgment in deciding if it is safe for them to report to work and communicate accordingly with their supervisors.
