Tri-County Technical College

Standard Plan members

Adult members can take advantage of this benefit at an eligible network provider. Well visits are subject to copayments, deductibles and coinsurance in covered years. The Plan will cover only one visit in covered years, based on the following schedule:

  • Ages 19-39: once every three years
  • Ages 40-49: once every two years
  • Ages 50 and older: once a year

In non-covered years, you will pay 100 percent of the State Health Plan’s negotiated rate. Additionally, the amount you pay for a well visit in a non-covered year will not apply toward your deductible or coinsurance maximum.

Savings Plan members

The Plan will cover a well visit every year at no member cost at an eligible network provider.

Even if 2020 is not a covered year for you, there is plenty you can do to support your health before your next adult well visit:

  • Sleep well. Quality sleep helps your mind and body recover from the day’s work and supports your mood, temperament and ability to focus. Hormones are also regulated during sleep, so getting enough encourages healthier food and portion choices throughout your day.
  • Stay hydrated. Making sure you are drinking enough water each day supports the function of every system in your body, including your heart, brain and muscles. Keeping your body properly hydrated helps carry nutrients to your cells and flush bacteria and toxins from your system.
  • Eat colorfully. A diet rich in vegetables and fruits can lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke, prevent some types of cancer, lower risk of eye and digestive problems, and help balance your appetite.
  • Move your body. Spending time in active movement each day not only helps you maintain a healthy weight; movement also supports memory, circulation, heart health and can reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression.

Your adult well visit is an ideal time to speak to your doctor about how best to incorporate these healthy habits into your daily routine and discuss additional recommendations for living your healthiest life, both in covered years and in all your years to come.
