Looking for a Career Opportunity Centered on Your Studies?

Career and Employability Resources (CER) regularly hosts Career Fairs for program specific employers as well as campus wide engagement. Employers from various local industries will be present. All students are welcome to attend.

Career Fair Style Tips!

First impressions matter — and your outfit can speak volumes before you even say a word! Here are some quick tips to help you dress for success at the career fair:

  • Dress Professionally – Think business casual (shirts with collars, no hats, t-shirts, shorts, or jeans with holes) or business formal depending on the industry.
  •  Keep it Neat – Iron your clothes, wear clean shoes, and avoid anything too flashy.
  •  Be Comfortable – You’ll be walking and talking a lot, so wear something that fits well and feels good.
  •  Bring Confidence – The best accessory is your self-assurance. Own your look and your goals!

Career Fair Checklist: What to Bring!

  • Showing up prepared is key to making a great impression. Here’s your quick guide to what you should bring to the career fair:
  • Updated Résumé – Bring several copies, tailored to the types of jobs you're seeking.
  • Understanding of Employers – Do some research of the companies attending to see which ones fit your interests.
  • Notebook & Pen – Take notes on companies, contacts, and follow-up tasks.
  • Elevator Pitch – Practice a quick intro about who you are and what you're looking for.
  • Confidence & Positivity – Your attitude is just as important as your materials!

CER provides resume and interviewing resources to strengthen your skills and aid in securing employment. If you would like your resume reviewed or complete a mock interview prior to the Career Fair, email CareerResources@tctc.edu or call 864-646-1577.
