Champion Aerospace Exciter Technician Co-Op

Position’s primary goal is to help the candidate learn the process of testing and failure analysis of Aerospace Ignition Systems using various electrical measurement instruments, such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, ampere meters, AC & DC power supplies, function generators and various test loads. The Exciter Technician Co-op will also utilize various environmental test equipment, such as high temperature ovens, thermal cycle chambers and vibration test equipment, to perform various operational test on Ignition Systems.

Drive Automation Tool & Die & Mechatronics Apprenticeship Testing

The Happy Berry

This 22-acre pick-your-own small fruit farm that also sells local wholesale is looking for summer help, interns and part time workers to assist with growing blackberries, blueberries, figs, seedless muscadines, regular seeded muscadines and persimmons.

Work will include weed, insect, disease, vertebrate and mechanical management including mowing; and grading, processing for on-farm sales, Farm Markets, and local wholesale.

Experience in growing fruits, vegetable and any kind of farming is desirable.

Hours are typically 8 am till 5 pm. The farm is open 7 days a week. The hours are flexible so students can take classes. Pay is commensurate with experience and age. Fully qualified individual is typically $12/hour.

Schneider Electric: Maintenance Apprentice

Program Details

  • 1 year program in Maintenance team
  • Opportunity for hands on troubleshooting of fabrication equipment
  • Flexible Hours : Afternoons, Nights and Weekends
  • Up to 32 hours of work per week; min of 16 hours required
  • Up to $3000 to assist with tuition and/or books
  • Starting Salary: $21.00

 

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in IET, GET or Mechatronics
  • GPA: 2.75 or above
  • Must have completed at least 15 credit hours

  • Use logic and elementary ladder diagrams.

This company is looking for a welding student who has skills in troubleshooting and maintenance.  Pay rate for the part-time role is $20/hr, but if they can work/need to work full-time, the pay increases to $25/hr.

What You’ll Do:

Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.

Repair and Maintain Plant Equipment. Perform repairs and maintenance throughout the plant including screen changes, conveyor belt repair and adjustment, wear parts replacement, crusher liner changes, and water pump service. Perform cutting, grinding, and welding as needed.

Inspect Equipment and Structures. Perform daily inspections and maintenance of the plant equipment in order to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations to maximize production and minimize interruptions.

Monitor Processes and Materials. Monitor and review the plant, specifically various aggregate crushing, washing, and screening areas to identify problems and ensure safety and materials compliance.

Document and Record Information. Enter and maintain service and lubrication reports regarding the plant equipment used to ensure preventative maintenance is up to date.

Perform General Physical Activities. Perform a variety of tasks that assist with the operation of the plant, including cleaning, washing, sweeping, and shoveling materials.

Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.

 

Skills You’ll Need:

Experience. Previous experience in the aggregate or construction industry is preferred.

Knowledge of Best Practices. Knowledge of general principles and practices of industrial maintenance, construction, or aggregate production is preferred.

Flexibility. Must be able to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.

Mechanical Skills. Must have some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
