Technology Resources for Instruction

TCTC IT acknowledges the constantly evolving technical elements of instruction as we prepare for the upcoming fall semester. In response to TCTC Faculty input, along with best practice research, the following equipment and software options are being made available. The items listed are in various stages of procurement, so status of current availability is denoted by green or blue text.  Please note there are items that do or not require departmental approval.

 

Green = item is in stock and onsite; ready to be deployed.       

       

Blueitem has been approved and purchased, but is still in fulfillment and/or shipping stages. These items are currently able to be requested and communication will be sent to the requestor outlining an expected deployment date.

Frequently Asked Questions 

How does a student request technology equipment or software?

  • A student who does not have internet access, stable internet access, or a device to connect to the internet from home should contact the Wellness Programs office to obtain assistance identifying and accessing resources. Students will start this process by filling out the Covid-19 Student Issues and Help Formhttps://cm.maxient.com/reportingform.php?TriCountyTC&layout_id=7 and a Wellness Program team member will follow-up with the student.

  • Faculty and staff may make a request on behalf of a student who does not have internet access, stable internet access, or a device to connect to the internet from home by filling out a Covid-19 Student Issues and Help Formhttps://cm.maxient.com/reportingform.php?TriCountyTC&layout_id=7
  • Once this request is approved by Wellness Programs, the IT Service Desk will fulfill the request working directly with the student.

How do I request equipment that does NOT require further approval?

  • The faculty or staff member should email the IT Service Desk (servicedesk@tctc.edu) with their request or use the IT Self Service Portal for make the request.
  • The IT Service Desk will deploy the equipment.

What is the request process for equipment that requires approval?

  • The faculty or staff member should email their Dean or Director and copy the IT Service Desk (servicedesk@tctc.edu) with the request.
  • The Dean or Director (or VP) can reply to the email approving the request.
  • Once the approval is received the IT Service Desk will deploy the equipment.
