PENDLETON --- Music instructor Julia West says Tri-County Technical College's upcoming concert will showcase student talent through duets, solos, and ensemble pieces by members of the choir and the jazz band.

The Tri-County Technical College Chorus will present its annual spring concert Friday, April 22, at 7 p.m. in the Marshall Parker Auditorium on the Pendleton Campus.  The concert is free and open to the public.

Under the direction of conductor and music instructor West, the concert will feature jazz and American folk selections, along with performances from Broadway musicals "Wicked," "Rent" and "Beauty and the Beast." The choir will perform the Robert Frost poem, "The Road Not Taken," with musical composition by Randall Thompson.  The band will perform jazz and funk songs and will feature a solo from bass player Austin Rhey.

West added that although the concert is free, donations to the College's Music Scholarship Fund are welcome. The goal is to raise money for an endowed scholarship that will benefit students who want to enroll in the chorus class but cannot afford it.
